MAIN STREET STATION

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA

We first met Casey and Ian less than a year prior to the wedding scheduled for the following spring in Richmond, Virginia. Michael and I connected with this young fun loving couple immediately. We met at Panera Bread and discussed all the wonderful details with them. When they told us the venue was going to be at Main Street Station, I could see Mike’s eyes light up! This was going to be our first time doing a wedding at this venue, but we were intrigued about photographing a wedding at a real working train station!

We were thrilled when Casey and Ian selected us to be a part of this special day for the both of them. Casey and Ian requested that we do the Engagement Session at the venue. This was perfect because it allowed us to check out the venue. We love doing Engagement Sessions for our couples because it allows them to feel more comfortable on the big day. It was a hot summer day for the Engagement Session with Casey and Ian, but we laughed and joked with them and put them at ease right away. The photos turned out beautifully and you could see the strong love they share in the natural smiles on their faces.

Mike and I looked forward to the wedding all year, and the day was finally here for Casey and Ian to get married! We met up with Casey, Casey’s mom, Ian’s mom and all the bridesmaids at a bridal shop owed by her friend and bridesmaid Lindsey. The mood in the bridal shop was full of happiness, excitement, laughter and smiles all around. For a day full of so much going on; Casey remained calm, poised and looked like a princess in her strapless wedding dress covered in lace with a sweetheart neckline.

The entire bridal party in addition to Casey’s mom and Ian’s mom walked along side Casey from Annalise’s Bridal Boutique to Main Street Train Station. This actually allowed us to capture some unique candid moments in downtown Richmond. We arrived at the venue which was decorated in both an elegant and natural color scheme of green and purple; very fitting for a spring wedding. The ceremony was short and sweet, and brought tears to many eyes of family and friends. The ceremony location was flipped to a reception while the newly married Casey and Ian along with family and friends had some time to get portraits taken. It was now time to enjoy some good food, dancing and even more memories to be made!

The entertainment for the reception was provided by Sam Hill Entertainment; a personal favorite of the couple. The local band was fantastic; it was like having a private concert for the wedding reception! By far the most unique mother and son dance hands down; goes to Ian and his mom. They tore up the dance floor; and you could tell that Ian and his mom have a very special and amazing bond. The reception had some delicious food provided by Ian's dad who runs Jadean's Smoking Six O Food Truck.

The remainder of Casey and Ian's reception was full of family and friends dancing to the live band, drinks and so much laughter. Michael and I are so happy for you both, and we wish you many years of  happiness together. Thank You for allowing us to be a part of this day, we have so many fond memories of this day!
